Asthma Friendly School

Asthma Friendly Schools is an NHS program that recognises schools that have the skills and knowledge to support children with asthma. To achieve this status, schools must meet a detailed set of standards.

Miss Boon is our appointed Asthma Champion and she is there to coordinate asthma care in school. She is always available for any asthma related queries.

We have a thorough Asthma Policy which can be found on our website. This outlines all of our Asthma procedures in school.

We have a detailed Asthma register which is regularly monitored by Miss Boon to ensure we are doing everything we can to support children with asthma. This includes monitoring triggers and attendance issues due to asthma.

There are multiple emergency asthma kits located throughout our school and all staff know where these are located. Outside agencies are also made aware of the location of these emergency kits.

All staff have been given NHS asthma training and are aware of the procedures in our school. This training is taken annually.

The Asthma Friendly School Award is renewed every two years.
