To celebrate the start of 'World Nursery Rhyme Week' the children in our Foundation Stage came into school dressed as characters from different nursery rhymes!

We want to use this week to celebrate, and bring awareness to, the importance of nursery rhymes and songs in the early development of children. 

Nursery rhymes can be used in so many different ways and for so many different things. Some of these include;

Using songs to boost vocabulary and language development.

Developing literacy skills.

Providing a fun way to support early math skills.

Helping children to develop social, physical and emotional skills. 

Each day this week the children will have a 'Rhyme of the day'. Can you guess what the rhymes were from the photographs below?🌠
