Our Class Saint
Saint Joseph
This year the Foundation Stage have chosen St. Joseph as their Class Saint. We chose this Saint as we feel that St. Joseph is an important figure in the introduction to our school and to our Holy Family. We will celebrate St. Joseph this year throughout our time in school and we will also celebrate his feast day on the 21st March. We look forward to sharing the learning around this special saint and his Earthly, Fatherly figure to ourselves and to Jesus.
Feast Day: This will be celebrated in school on Friday 21st March.
Curriculum Goals across the Foundation Stage
We will continue to explore many texts throughout this half term, some our focus texts will include:
Light, camera, Diwali, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, The Gruffalo.
R.E.
This half-term we will be learning about two very special units within our R.E.
Baptism – The children will have an insight into the membership of God’s Family through Baptism.
Advent – This unit will introduce the preparations for Advent and the Celebration of Christmas.
Please let us know of "Magic Moments" when you feel that your child has learnt anything new as this will allow us to provide next steps in their learning.
This can be sent to us through the Evidence Me APP
These magic moments can be something you have achieved a home – riding a bike, dressing yourself, helping at home! Anything at all, big or small!
If you have not already please pass on your email and download the Evidence me app. You will find and be able to share observations on here from school and home.
Reading Diaries: Please listen to your child read at least 3 times a week (school policy) and ensure that you sign their diaries. Diaries will be checked every Friday. Please practise any sounds and words that are in your child’s purse. We will tick them when they recognise them correctly in school.
READING EVERY DAY WILL HAVE THE MOST IMPACT!
